Thyroid gland is one of the most crucial organs of the human body. They regulate metabolism, or the way the body uses energy. If thyroxine levels are low, many of the body’s functions slow down.
The thyroid creates two thyroid hormones, triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4). These regulate metabolism, and they also affect the functions like brain development, temperature, menstrual cycles, weight and muscle strength.
Hypothyroidism is a condition where the thyroid hormone does not produce right amount of hormone required for the functioning of the body.
Fatigue, weight gain, cold intolerance, joint and muscle pain, cramps, and weakness, heavy periods, anaemia and depression.
